Dimension text direction in Layout
Author:Andrija Bojovic
Posted: Fri Aug 12, 2016 10:18 am (GMT+1)
Dear,
During the drawing of a big project I got to the strange problem. When I put a part of a project (as a drawing) in a layout and rotate it for a 90° , dimension text remains just it was at the drawing, and it is hard readable on a paper sheet (you need to rotate paper for 180° to be able to read it). Usually, with the small buildings, I was making an easy solution with rotation of whole building for a 90° before putting it on a layout... now it would be not a good solution, because all other dimension texts in whole project will not stay in right positions. Is there any option to fix that problem just for that layout?
Thanks![Shocked]()

P.S. I am using Archicad 19

Dear,
After days and days of searching for a solution and reading forums, google-ing and trying to find out what is wrong, I decided to ask you.
I can not open "PhotoRendering Settings" window! I am using Archicad 19.
Yes, I tried with ctrl+F10, than through a menu/rendering/..., than through a rendering toolbar... but every time when I click on that icon or press ctrl+F10, just nothing happen.
I changed a screen resolution, minimized and maximized archicad window, updated a graphic card driver, moved/closed all toolbars and than moved it back, tried with opening a new project with a default working environment, and always the same-nothing. In archicad 18 it works normally.
Please help![Shocked]()

You pushed "PhotoRendering Settings" palette off screen and it does not reset back, even if you use another Work Environment profile.
This is a bug and we need Graphisoft input on this.
Other palettes return to their location saved under Work Environment > Workspace Schemes in specific Work Environment profile, but "PhotoRendering Settings" palette does not. It does not even return if "New & Reset All" option is used.
If pushed off-screen "PhotoRendering Settings" palette is gone forever.
How do we get it back, Graphisoft?

If I understand correctly.
The correct way to do this is to save the view with the rotation first and then place it in the layout. Use the "Set Orientation" command and when you select the view check also that under Zooming you have "Zoomed Area" selected as part of the settings.

Is anyone else having a problem with the ESC key not working as intended? I have ALWAYS used my ESC key to get out of a command & deselect an object.
Lately if I have an object selected and I have NOT started a command, it will deselect as expected, BUT if I am in a command and try to cancel out of it/deselect the object, nothing happens.
Just wondering if it's just me...

Try this:
Make sure ArchiCAD is the program "on top"/"active" by clicking within an Archicad window you can see on your monitor. Then use the Windows Key + (the left or right arrow key) until you see the lost window show up on your screen.
FYI
You may have to keep the WIN key down and click the left or right arrow key a few times to get the window to show up.

My .pln wont load past "Refreshing the screen" phase

Hey everyone,
Has anyone had any problems loading up .pln files in ArchiCAD 19 & 20 lately (as in it just started happening yesterday)? None of my .pln file will load past the "Refreshing the screen" phase and I have no idea why?
Oh and on a different laptop it works fine so im sure its not the file...
Things I have tried:
-Reinstalling both 19 and 20 (twice)
-Installing to portable HDD and running from there. (I did this to see if it was the install, but when I run it of the HDD on another computer it opens fine.
I feel like it may be a setting with my laptop but I need to get this fixed because I have a major assessment due and I have not got regular access to an alternative laptop![Sad]()

I PM'd the crash ID and sent my file through the upload portal.
I haven't been able to reproduce the problem. Though I haven't tried that so much either.
I was experimenting and playing with curtain wall custom panels and upped settings a little bit for the rendering engine. Too much, obviously, and I quess my modest amount of RAM just ran out (32GB).

You say you have re-installed Archicad - I assume you have also installed the latest updates (hotfixes) as well?
I would also check you have the latest video card drivers installed too.
Does the same happen when you do a "New and Reset All' or open the blank template?
Barry.

archicad file converter problems in windows 7

I was in process of migrating old archicad projects. My OS is Windows 7pro 64bit. All was working well and I could use the Archicad 7,9 & 10 converters successfully. As all was working I refrained from the free Windows 10 upgrade. Since a windows "critical Update" on 16.08.06 I can no longer save a converted file from the 7, 9, & 10 converters. When saving the program crashes/hangs. Windows decided with this critical update to eliminate 4 years of prior system restore points so I can only go back to the 6th which I did but to no effect. Am I screwed? Any ideas? Is this something Archicad will correct with an update? Thanks

Hello, fellow archicad enthusiasts.
At the moment I am working on a big project that consists out of a building with 8 floors, different outer walls.
The problem lies within the heavy workload during shifting elements or adjusting walls, it slows down after adding more walls or picking up elements. From time to time the program even crashes. what is the best way to solve or bypass the enormous workload?
I will add my laptop specs and building aswell.
