Hi,
This is a known issue with Search & Replace at the moment in ARCHICAD 21. Unfortunately there's no workaround, but we plan to release the fix for it in an upcoming update!
Regards,

hello,
I had already seen that thread and the linked video, but unfortunately I can not solve the problem because I have a mac ... but above all I don't have cinema 4d (the complete software, i just have the archicad add-on).
I contacted my reseller, but they advised me to format the computer and I would like to avoid it ...

That's because your firewall is now turned on. You are supposed to be able to add Archicad to the allowed list but I have never gotten it to work. I think it is best to keep the firewall turned on and put up with the pop up.
By the way, I am no longer having the problem in AC 21

Yes exactly, all I got from Support was to turn off the firewall, and as you said, Archicad is in the allowed list but doesn't work. Where's Graphisoft on this problem? Hope the lastest update to AC 20 when it is approved for NZ will fix it.

Is there a bug in Archicad 18 9019?
When we use resize to change the size of an object it does not update until we open the object setting.
Example screenshots with notes attached. This is happening with all objects.
Is this a known bug?

It seems it depends on the objects - maybe how they are scripted - I don't know for sure.
If I try is with the Graphisoft shower cabin or shower tray I see the problem you have.
If I try with other shower objects I have they stretch just fine.
However I wouldn't do it this way.
Just grab one of the corner nodes and stretch it to where you want.
If you have the 'Tracker' active then you can also type in the dimensions you want.
Or type the length and depth into the info box - it will change size based on the location of the anchor point if you do this so it is actually easier to just stretch the node you want.
Generally any node that is situated on the extents of the object (i.e. length or depth) will adjust those values - both if it is on a corner.
Barry.

Thats fine for one object but one my typical usage is for resizing landscaping objects. eg 15 plants scaled to fit a planting border.

The problem has been fixed in newer versions of Archicad.
I just tried 19 & 21 and it is fine there.
Rebuild & Regenerate (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+R) will also force the resize without having to open the object settings.
Barry.

The Rebuild & Regenerate works most of the time. I just tried resizing up and Rebuild & Regenerate worked but if I resize down past the original object size Rebuild & Regenerate does not work.
We have stopped updating at 18 after a jump from 13 and that was not a good transition after discovering a bug that would erroneously bring RL and north data from one AC file to another.

This is kind of annoying and stupid problem. We recently bought this configuration:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GhZ
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
Video card: GeForce GTX 1070 8GB DDR5
HDD: ADATA SX9000NP
This is an almost 2000 euro computer and it still run like something veeery old. All the recommandations you wrote in the previous replies are tested and theyre was no result at all...my older configuration (6 years older) is doing beetter performence in 2D. There is something wrong and I don't know what. They must be some solution...i'm currently using Archicad 21 with latest updates. Does somebody find an answer for this problem?

Hi everyone -
I have been away from this forum for years. I just upgraded to AC21 on Mac OSX. I am setting up my shortcuts and I have noticed AC21 will not respond to the shortcut "OPTION COMMAND D". It will not allow me to drag a copy by using the keystrokes. However, if I "right-click" over a line or object, I then can drag a copy.
I have looked in my user preferences and I noticed this IS the keystroke for drag a copy from Graphisoft out of the box. I have even tried to assign the keystroke manually and AC will not let me do it.
Interestingly "OPTION COMMAND E", rotate a copy, "OPTION COMMAND M", mirror a copy both work as intended.
Anyone else on a Mac experiencing this problem? Is this a known bug?
Thanks in advance for any insight/help offered.

Hi Robert,
Welcome back - long time!
System keyboard shortcuts take preference. You may have noticed your dock appearing and disappearing while pressing opt-cmd-D?
Go to System Preferences > Keyboard and uncheck the box for the system shortcut. It will now respond as desired within ARCHICAD.
Cheers,
Karl

I am using AC21 on a small project and find some of its operations much slower that I am used to in previous versions. When I select la working on a model, the scrolled list takes measurable time to appear. When I scroll this list up or down, it takes measurable seconds to actually scroll and it stops and starts. The response to menu selections is also sometimes tardy. I've never had this with previous AC versions.
Am I alone in finding this?

No, you're not alone
I'm working on 150mb file project. Not big.
When I pass from a view to another view it takes up to a couple of seconds (and more in many cases) to redraw the plan ... I'm a bit disappointed. I bought a new machine in June with many cores in order to exploit the multi tasking but what I see a normale "behaviour", just a couple of cores working except for rendering where it runs all the cores ...
In order to speed up the things I had to disable the background update.
I found AC21 much slower than AC19 (never tried AC20).
Hope next versions will be faster and will be really multi tasking.

One of my minions had a machine that was running slow the other day.
He had palettes undocked and dragged onto a second monitor.
Docking all the palettes and closing those not needed and restarting the machine made a big improvement.
Barry.
