I think this situation is not that simple. There are multiple things in play here:
1. Cut lines
2. Uncut lines
3. Fills of cut surfaces
4. Fills of uncut surfaces
5. Vectorial hatches on uncut surfaces
6. Hidden lines
Currently, hidden lines are drawn in front of all other lines and fills.
If hidden lines were drawn behind all these, then hidden lines would not be visible behind any fills.
I think the way this should work best is hidden lines should be in front of all fills, but behind all other lines. I think this would be a more complex thing to achieve technologically, because you would have to separate the drawing of fills and lines (or maybe it is relatively simple, I am just guessing).
So I would say this is more a feature than a bug, but a feature that could be implemented more intelligently.
So I will forward this to GRAPHISOFT as a wish.

Saying that in programming way... it might be
If fills are off then draw hidden lines first.

This doesn't seem like a bug to me.
In the IFC Scheme Settings Dialog you defined the "ALMA quantity" IFC Property, and you set its type to "IfcReal". This means it is expecting a number.
So when you type some text as a default value, I think ARCHICAD will convert that text string value into an IfcReal value, which is zero.
This is why you see zero as the default linked value in the Settings Dialog.
Try to assign a real numeric value in the IFC Scheme Settings Dialog and see what it display in the Settings Dialog.
As another note: I can imagine things are being developed so their more strictly adhere to IFC specifications. Or maybe it was just an overlook of a small glitch in previous versions which allowed it to work the way it did previously.

So today while I had ArchiCad 19 open, we had a sudden drop in power. The UPS was slow to respond resulting in my PC hanging for a sec before shutting down and restarting.
After the restart I tried to re-open Archicad and get presented with a
"Cache File Opening Error" at the start-up screen. It reads,
"Error while opening the file: C:\Users\Username\Graphisoft\TWData\TWDataOptions.xml"
I can click "OK" but it just pops up again until I force the program closed.
I have run a back up and re-install, but the same issue comes up again.
Any suggestions for a fix?

Laszlo,
maybe I express bad what I meant.
The quantity is linked to the gross volume that's why I expect to see a number and actually this happened in AC19.
Now in AC21 it shows zero while the schedule of the same IFC propertiy of the same element is correct

The clipping issue could be caused by objects being very far from the project origin. Try using the Marquee tool around the main portion of the project and seeing if that fixes the clipping issue.

I also have this clipping issue, and it's not he GPU, Open GL nor drivers.
For me it was the new railing tool from Archicad 21. Whener I use it extensively, I run into various problems like near camera clipping or random displacement of the railing. If I filter the railing out in 3D window, the near camera clipping issue dissappears.

Ah,OK, I understand that now: in the Settings Dialog you do not see the value you set, but in the Schedule you do see the correct value.
I have no idea what could cause this, so I will just report it to GRAPHISOFT for investigation.

Yes, when strange things are happening graphically, the first thing to do is always to upgrade to the latest version of the graphics card drivers, many times they fix such issues, let us hope they do this time too.

You have to click the button "

or something like that (the button shown in Italian in your image)

I ve got a big problem.
When I press render or render settings the program just stopped and stay like 5 minute. After that i got an error (see the image). I ve got a new computer I7 8700K, 16 GB Ram, nvidia GTX 1070 G1 8 GB Ram.
I tried the following:
- reinstall geforce driver
- uninstall geforce experience app
- reinstall archicad
- install the latest java and c++ 2017
- uninstall all the tweaks apps for the motherboard.

HI All,
Currently having issues with the display of my Shadow Diagrams in AC21 - I use 3D documents taken from a 'top view' of the model to create a live image that can be annotated.
However, between the View Map and Layout Book the appearance changes, with the actual 3D model disappearing, and only the shadow/2D annotations visible.
The next issue is that this appearance sometimes occurs in the View Map too.
I've tried changing View Overrides etc and they work in the short term both in the View Map and Layout Book however it always reverts back.
Has anyone else experience this?
Below are three images to demonstrate the issue - first is how it should appear in View Map and the second is it not working in View Map.

Hi all - I have found what seems to be the issue that prevents the HDPI registry setting workaround from surviving past the first system reboot - and a solution:
If present, the motherboard onboard Intel GPU needs to be **fully disabled** in BIOS (set GPU boot priotity to 'PCIE', NOT 'Auto' or 'CPU'), otherwise windows appears to interrogate this GPU during boot, which impacts the default DPI scale factor windows thinks needs to be applied to non DPI aware applications like ArchiCAD, and also seems to prevent windows from responding to the registry HDPI scale factor setting for ArchiCAD - for reasons unknown.
With the Intel GPU disabled, suddenly the ArchiCAD mouse pointer responds to the HDPI registry setting, and looks as it should.
It may be that if my Intel GPU had been connected to another 4K monitor, that the issue would not have arisen as the default DPI scale factor windows calculates during boot up would then have been correct for 4K resolution, but in my case it had been connected to a lower resolution secondary monitor.
The only reason I have been using the onboard Intel GPU at all, was as a way of offloading some demand on my Nvida GPU - I use 4 Nvidia connected GPUs for GPU rendering in Octane Render - every extra bit helps, and it is nice to be able to read my emails and perform other graphically undemanding tasks on the secondary monitor (with no slowdown) while all 4 Nvidia GPUs are 100% dedicated to the rendering.
Until ArchiCAD becomes DPI aware, it seems I need to sacrifice this functionality and/or throttle some GPU rendering performance on one of my Nvida Cards
Hope this helps someone out there

Dear Elemental_BD,
I think this might be a known issue. It looks like you ran into the bug, that if you switch between views of 3D documents the outlines might go missing. When the View looks wrong, please try doing a Rebuild & Regenerate (ctrl+alt+shift+R, or available in View>Refresh while holding the Shift key), and see if that fixes it. If it does, then you have the same problem.
Most of the time it works fine when you publish the layouts these views are placed on, please see if that's true for you as well. The bug should be fixed in a future update (unfortunately not the one coming in a few weeks).
Kind Regards,

Thanks for the reply.
The regeneration works in the view map, however I still have issues in the layout book with the shadows not appearing.
Is there a short term fix for this?
